John Laird ’53 12/12/2006 Q: Why did you join Phi Kappa Psi? A: I had four or five good friends who were in it. I was one of the last World War II veterans up at Bucknell, and I had three or four very good friends who were veterans who were joining the fraternity also. We became friends because we were the last veterans there. Plus the fact that it was the top house on campus at that time. It was the most popular. They had most of the varsity football, basketball and baseball team as members. It was a class-A establishment.
